Dogs

It's official, Ryker has Cushing's Disease. Basically, it means his body doesn't produce the substance to tell him when to stop drinking and eating, thus leading to puddles on our carpet. He actually hasn't been too bad lately, we have a pretty good routine where we stop giving him water around 7:00 at night and then limit him to the kitchen during the nights. When we aren't home during the day, we leave him outside. He has to go to the vet's for some more tests, but it looks like he will have to go on medication to control it.

We went to a pumpkin patch out by Huntingdon yesterday to get some pictures of Ethan.

P.I.M.P.

Back from Indianapolis after spending a week there at a conference. Overall, a nice city, wouldn't mind spending a couple days there without having to work to check it out in more depth.

I just downloaded iTunes for Windows from Apple's website. First impressions are pretty good. The interface is a hell of a lot nicer than BuyMusic. I still don't think I'll be able to transfer anything to my MP3 player, but that is more a case of my MP3 player blowing goats than iMusic's site.

We spent the day yesterday at Westminster's homecoming. It was a good time and I saw a lot of old friends I haven't seen for a while. It's a shame that these people that you spend 4+ years of your lives with just all sudden disappear one day and even though you try to keep in touch, many just fade away.

Looks like I'll be going 0-2 this week in Fantasy Football again. Brendan is having a career day, and I may still be able to pull it out againist Jamie. My team has blown all year, we will be doing a serious rebuild come next season.

Midnight Train to Indianapolis

I'll be heading to the beautiful city of Indianapolis tonight around 10:00 for an Internet2 conference. In a weird twist of fate, I'll be driving out with Bob rather than flying. I guess we should get there about 7:00 tomorrow morning, and then we have a presentation to make a 1:00. Should be an interesting day.

I'm taking my GPS in case I get some time to geocache while there (or maybe a little wardiving).

Busy Busy

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, we have been quite busy this past week. One set of grandparents visited last weekend, and we are off to visit the other set this weekend, so that has kept us pretty busy. I just got back from my QBA test and hopefully I did fairly well.

I'm actually taking some interest in this year's baseball playoffs, hoping that both the Cubs and the Sox make the series. I almost have to think the whole thing is fixed to increase ratings.

Ryker is back to his water problems again, keeping us awake at night during his relentless search for water after midnight. Looks like we may have an outside dog (at least at night) if he keeps it up. The vet is going to do a few more tests and hopefully figure out what is going on.

Wi-Fi Bad

Wi-Fi networking news is reporting that a bunch of parents in Illinois are suing a school for installing Wi-Fi claiming that the access points are going to emit enough wireless signal to fry their kid's brains. These are probably the same parents that buy their kids the latest cell phones and used 2.4 Ghz baby monitors when the kids were babies. Perhaps the kids should sue the parents for that.
