Sad Day

I know I haven't blogged for a while, but this is an entry I really didn't want to have to make. We had to put one of our Huskies to sleep last week. Ryker developed Cushings Disease about one year ago and had gone down hill substantially over the past two months. The disease made Ryker extremelly hungry and thirsty, plus he was losing a ton of hair towards the end. He also developed sores on his elbows, which made it harder and harder for him to walk.

He finally got to the point where we could just tell he was in pain and decided it was time to put him to sleep. Ryker was Ethan's favorite (Kira wants nothing to do with him), so it was a very very difficult decision.

Ryker was a very good dog before he got sick. I'll never forget bringing him home three years ago and wondering what we were going to do with such a big dog! He loved his daily walk and to be outside howling with the sirens. He loved Ethan and Ryker would let the baby crawl over over him without the hint of complaint.

We will miss him.

Have It Your Way

There are few things on the Internet that still amuse me. This is one of them.

Is BK really behind this one? Absolute genius if they are.

Interesting Conspiracy Theory?

Happy Scrappy Puppy sent me this link. Interesting timeline of George W. on 9-11. I know enough not to believe everything I see on the Internet, but if this account of G.W.'s morning of 9-11 is true, and the provided references make me believe it is, the guy should be impeached. The nation is being attacked for only the 2nd time this century, and our commander-in-chief is reading a children's book to 2nd graders. One has to wonder on his motives.

New RSS Aggregator

I've decided to try out Bloglines as my new RSS aggregator. Unlike Feedreader (which I'm very happy with), Bloglines uses a web-based interface to list the RSS feeds. This will allow me to take my RSS feeds anywhere (assuming I remember the password :))

The only way I'll give it a fair shot will be if I rely on it solely, so I'm not even going to run FeedReader for the next 3 days.

Things to do this summer

Note: I stole this idea from Dave Copeland. Buy his presidential vote here.

1, Bike the Lower Trail several times with Ethan in tow.

2, Bike at least part of the Pittsburgh to DC trail.

3, Hike the Maple Trail in Bedford county.

4, If possible, go to WV for the New River Gorge.

5, Visit Washington DC at least once.

6, Antietam Battlefield.

7, This trail looks interesting.

8, Hit the beach at least once (either Myrtle Beach or Cape May or both).

9, Chris & Sharon's wedding.

10, The Cottage Bash. (might not happen since #9 happens the week after).

11, Water Baby class with Ethan.

12, NO CLASS!!!
