I don't connect to my Slingbox too often, but my friends from out of state that use it a lot to watch the Steelers and the Penguins.
However, today I found a new use for it. Our DirectTV dish was having trouble picking stations off of one of the satellites. I needed to go up, make some minor adjustments to the dish, with the hopes of saving the need for an $80 service call. This process previously require me going to the roof, and then yelling back and forth to my wife while she watched the signal strength readings back to me.
In step the Slingbox. I just took my laptop up to the roof with me, watched and controlled the TV though SlingPlayer & the wireless LAN, and viola! No more yelling, and a heck of a lot faster.
